The Esposito brothers have achieved significant milestones in Italian football. Following a victory for Sampdoria against Catanzaro, midfielder Salvatore Esposito celebrated the national team call-ups of his brothers, Francesco Pio and Sebastiano, describing the event as a “significant family milestone”. Sebastiano Esposito, playing for Sassuolo, received his first call-up to the Italian senior national team. His agent, Mario Giuffredi, noted that the decision to join Sassuolo has been beneficial for the striker’s development, marking the first time a Sassuolo player has been included in an official national squad since late 2023. Building on this momentum, both Sebastiano and Francesco Pio Esposito were included in Roberto Mancini’s squad for Nations League fixtures. During Italy’s 4-1 victory against Turkey, Sebastiano made his national team debut alongside Francesco Pio. This marked the first time two brothers have started together for the Italian national team since Aldo and Luigi Cevenini in 1915.
