Ethena Labs stablecoin expansion and infrastructure services
Overview
Ethena Labs is expanding its role in the stablecoin market through both infrastructure services and direct network integration. The company has introduced a ‘stablecoin-as-a-service’ model via its Whitelabel platform, which allows protocols like EtherFi to launch branded stablecoins, such as EtherFi USD, using Ethena’s technical machinery for reserves, minting, and compliance.
Simultaneously, Ethena is increasing the utility of its own synthetic dollar, USDe, by launching native support on OKX’s X Layer network. This move replaces bridged versions with native issuance to enable deeper DeFi integration, including the launch of an Aave v3 lending market on the network. As of mid-October, Ethena reported a collateralization ratio of 101.43%, with approximately $4.83 billion in backing supporting $4.76 billion in outstanding USDe.
