Etihad Rail has established operational guidelines and service expansions for its passenger network in the UAE. The company issued a Passenger Charter outlining rights and refund policies, noting that passengers must arrive at least 20 minutes before departure. The policy specifies that no refunds are provided for ‘no-shows’ or passenger errors, though passengers may rebook or request refunds if the operator causes delays of 30 minutes or more. Following the official inauguration of the Dubai station on September 28, 2026, passenger services commenced on September 30, 2026, connecting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Fujairah. The Al Yalayis station in Dubai provides a connection to the Jumeirah Golf Estates Metro Station via a dedicated footbridge, facilitating travel to major districts like Dubai Marina and Dubai International Airport. Due to strong initial demand, Etihad Rail added six extra services between Abu Dhabi and Dubai for the weekend of October 3–4, 2026, providing over 2,000 additional seats. Fares for the Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi route remain at AED 39 for Comfort Class and AED 109 for Premium Class, with journey times of approximately 64 minutes. To enhance the passenger experience, the operator has partnered with Parkin and Q Mobility to implement smart parking solutions using digital technology and artificial intelligence. This initiative will initially cover stations in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Al Dhaid, and Fujairah. Future expansions include new stations in the Al Dhafra region by late 2026 and a Sharjah station in early 2027. As of October 6, 2026, passengers traveling to Dubai can integrate a nol one-day pass into their Etihad Rail bookings. This feature allows travelers to use a single QR code for onward journeys on the Dubai Metro, Tram, and RTA public buses.
