Eumseong County is organizing several events in September 2026 to promote local agricultural products and regional goods. The Eumseong Myeongjak Festival is scheduled for September 17 to September 20 at Geumbit Neighborhood Park. Under the theme ‘Taste containing time! Eumseong Myeongjak beyond imagination!’, the festival focuses on six major agricultural products—chili peppers, ginseng, fruit, peaches, rice, and flowers. The event features a ‘Myeongjak Market’ for sales and a new ‘Eumseong Agricultural Sweet and Salty Market’ for local desserts. New details for the festival include a daily ‘1,000 won special sale’ running from 3:00 PM to 4:00 PM on a first-come, first-served basis. Cultural programming includes a drone show featuring 500 drones, a participatory folk play, and musical performances by artists such as Gukcaasten, Shin Yong-jae, Park Seo-jin, and Gummy. Family-oriented activities include the ‘Myeongjak Children’s Farmer School’ and ginseng seedling planting. To assist visitors, the county is providing free ginseng washing, electric cart services, and shuttle buses; shuttle users will receive 5,000 won worth of agricultural coupons. Additionally, the ‘2026 Eumseong Sale Festa’ will be held on September 10 and September 22. The first session, held at the Eumseong General Stadium, serves as a side event for the 65th Chungbuk Provincial Sports Festival. The second session, scheduled for September 22 at the Maengdong Innovation City National Sports Center, coincides with the Chuseok holiday and will include local agricultural producers and special musical performances. The Eumseong Myeongjak Festival concluded its four-day run with approximately 270,000 visitors. Beyond agricultural promotion through the Myeongjak Market and the ‘Myeongjak Moonlight Night Market’, the county used the event to advocate for the inclusion of the Central Inland Railway branch in the 5th National Railway Network Construction Plan.
