European film festival showcases

Overview

In late October 2026, Italian-produced films were featured in cultural initiatives across Spain and the Dominican Republic. In Andalusia, the ‘Cinema per il Sociale’ program scheduled screenings in Seville and Cadiz to showcase documentaries regarding migrant integration and European solidarity. Simultaneously, the Eurocine 2026 European Film Festival opened in Santo Domingo, featuring 15 European films, including the Italian production ‘GLORIA!’.

By November 2026, additional festivals were announced. The XXVII Festival del Cinema Europeo was scheduled for Lecce, Italy, featuring the Ulivo d’Oro competition and career honors for figures such as Luigi Lo Cascio and Jeremy Irons. Additionally, the 14th CiakPolska Film Festival was set to take place in Rome, organized by the Polish Institute, featuring retrospectives of Andrzej Wajda and tributes to Krzysztof Kieslowski alongside contemporary Polish cinema.
