Marmaris is scheduled to host a variety of cultural, sporting, and gastronomic events during the final week of October, coinciding with the 103rd anniversary of the Republic. Planned activities include the ‘Valuable Scraps’ sustainable art project, which will exhibit works made from scrap materials by 11 international artists at Marmaris Atatürk Square. Other scheduled events include the Marmaris Oktoberfest featuring musical performances, the 37th Marmaris International Yacht Racing Week, and the 27th International Arena AquaChallenge Swimming Championship. In a broader context of Turkish cultural tourism, the nation’s night museum initiative has reached a record 1,326,590 visitors, representing a 32% increase from the previous year. Culture and Tourism Minister Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that the program, which ran across 22 sites from June 1 to October 1, saw high demand at locations such as Ephesus, Galata Tower, and Hierapolis. The Marmaris Museum was also noted among the locations involved in these cultural developments.
