Evolution of smart mobility and autonomous systems

The evolution of smart mobility is progressing from the development of specific autonomous vehicle technologies toward a broader integration with urban infrastructure.

These models aim to make autonomous vehicles safer and more predictable by mimicking human-like interactions with pedestrians and cyclists. This technical advancement is supported by growing connectivity, with millions of connected cars already in circulation and infrastructure providers working to support traffic management and safety services.

This technological progression is driving a conceptual shift in the automotive industry. The focus is moving away from traditional mechanical metrics, such as engine power and design, toward software-defined vehicles and integrated urban architecture. In this new landscape, mobility is defined by a complex ecosystem that connects people, energy, and data, making the city an active participant in mobility decisions through smart traffic management and real-time data processing.
