Expansion of crypto-backed revolving credit lines
Overview
Financial institutions are expanding revolving credit facilities backed by digital assets. In late August 2026, Galaxy Digital introduced a Crypto Portfolio Line of Credit via its GalaxyOne platform in 40 US states. This facility allows clients to borrow against Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Solana, including staked Solana, to access cash or USDC without liquidating holdings.
Following this, Toronto-based APX Lending launched a five-year revolving line of credit for Bitcoin and Ethereum. As a regulated lender approved by Canadian securities regulators, APX Lending offers a facility with no origination, prepayment, or liquidation fees, backed by up to $250 million in collateral insurance.
