KDDI and its partners, including Fujisoft and Wi2, are expanding the ‘ConnectIN povo’ ecosystem for the povo2.0 mobile service in Japan. A key development is the launch of the ‘+F FS045W’ mobile Wi-Fi router. This eSIM-compatible 4G LTE device includes 10GB of povo2.0 data valid for one year and a one-year subscription to ‘Gigazo Wi-Fi,’ which provides access to over 100,000 public Wi-Fi spots with VPN protection. The router is designed for versatility, supporting dual SIMs, heat detection, and operation without a battery, making it suitable for travel, business, or as a backup during natural disasters. Users can manage data through the povo2.0 platform, purchasing additional ‘toppings’ such as unlimited 24-hour data once the initial 10GB is exhausted. On October 22, 2026, the ‘ConnectIN povo’ service expanded to include new models of Fujitsu Client Computing’s FMV Note U laptops. These devices feature integrated 5G/4G LTE connectivity via the povo2.0 network, offering users three data capacity options—100GB, 500GB, or 1TB—utilizable over up to three years. Additionally, customers using ‘au Hikari Plus’ with specific Wi-Fi options may receive monthly promo codes for a 31-day unlimited data bonus for their compatible PCs. To support the service expansion, KDDI, Okinawa Cellular, and KDDI Digital Life have introduced a cashback campaign for users switching to povo2.0 via MNP. Customers using Paidy’s ‘buy now, pay later’ service to purchase specific one-year data toppings may receive total returns of up to 21,000 yen, including existing au PAY incentives.
