The consumer audio market is seeing an expansion in open-ear wearable technology. In early September 2026, the Indian brand Noise announced the Noise Master Buds Open at the IFA conference in Berlin. These clip-on earbuds feature a sound signature tuned by Bose and are expected to launch in late September with a price of approximately 119 euros. Following this, Bose announced the expansion of its open-ear lineup with two new models: the Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) and the Sport Open Earbuds. Both utilize Bose OpenAudio technology to maintain situational awareness. The Ultra Open Earbuds (2nd Gen) are a premium update priced at $299, while the Sport Open Earbuds, priced at $199, feature a silicone C-arm design and an IP54 rating. Both models support Bluetooth 5.4 and multipoint connectivity. Preorders began in mid-September, with official availability starting October 1 in the US and Europe. In late September, Bose confirmed the Sport Open Earbuds would launch in Indonesia on October 1, 2026, at a price of Rp2,699,000. On October 5, 2026, Noise officially launched the Master Buds Open in India. The earbuds utilize a 10.8mm custom dynamic driver and an ergonomic C-bridge design to allow for ear canal ventilation. Technical specifications include Dynamic EQ with six presets, 4-Mic ENC DNN for voice calls, Bluetooth 5.4, and Spatial Audio. The device also features an integrated AI voice assistant, Chat AI, and transcription capabilities via the Noise Audio App. The product offers up to 28 hours of playback, fast charging, and an IPX4 rating, and is available in Carbon and Mercury metallic finishes. In a separate move on September 26, move, Bose announced is expanding its first return to wired audio presence in 11 years with the release of wired segment. On October 7, 2026, Bose announced the Bose Noise Cancelling Wired Earbuds. Earbuds, marking its return to the category after more than a decade.
