The Expo Coahuila complex has officially opened in Saltillo, Mexico, following an investment of over 270 million pesos. Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas inaugurated the facility to serve as a major hub for national and international events. The seventh edition of Rodeo Saltillo is currently underway, running from October 15 to 18. The festival features a diverse program including livestock activities, such as the 90th National Livestock Convention, alongside musical performances by artists including Julión Álvarez, Banda El Recodo, Pesado, and La Casetera. Government officials, including Governor Jiménez Salinas and Federal Tourism Secretary Josefina Rodríguez Zamora, have highlighted the event’s potential to bolster regional tourism. Projections include hotel occupancy rates between 90 and 95 percent, with significant economic spillover expected for the Saltillo, Ramos Arizpe, and Coahuila southeast regions. To manage logistics and security, organizers have implemented strict entry regulations prohibiting items such as weapons, drones, coolers, large backpacks, and outside food or beverages. Additionally, local authorities have introduced a free shuttle system, ‘Aquí Vamos pa’l Rodeo’, to transport visitors from designated parking areas to the venue. Ticket sales for specific dates continue to be managed exclusively online to streamline access. In conjunction with the festival, the 90th Anniversary of the National Confederation of Livestock Organizations of Mexico (CNOG) is being commemorated. Inaugurated by Governor Jiménez Salinas in Arteaga, the convention brings together over 1,500 producers from across the country. CNOG President Homero García de la Llata emphasized the importance of unity and organized representation for the nation’s livestock sector. Attendees have been advised to prepare for weather forecasts predicting rain and cold temperatures during the event.
