The Fakuma trade fair highlights advancements in manufacturing, specifically within the plastic processing and toolmaking sectors. Initial reports focus on the upcoming exhibition of electric injection molding machines designed for energy efficiency and reduced material use, such as the WITTMANN Group’s EcoPrimus, MicroPower, and EcoPower models. The event also features a large collective stand by the Association of German Tool and Mold Makers (VDWF), representing approximately 60 companies and institutions to provide a cross-industry overview of the value chain. Developments showcased at the fair include innovations in thermal processing and digital simulation. Excelitas is presenting energy-efficient infrared radiators for precise thermal processes, while Sigma Engineering is demonstrating Sigmasoft Virtual Molding software, which enables real-time injection molding simulations without the requirement for physical machines or molds. For the Fakuma 2026 exhibition in Friedrichshafen, Germany, scheduled for October 12–16, Emerson and the Wittmann Group have announced new solutions for plastics processing. Emerson intends to present its Branson welding and joining technologies, specifically the Branson Polaris Ultrasonic welding platform, alongside laser and heat staking technologies and Industry 4.0 connectivity gateways. These tools aim to improve production flexibility and connectivity in the automotive, medical, and consumer electronics sectors. The Wittmann Group will introduce its complete Primus product range, which includes peripheral equipment, robots, and the EcoPrimus fully electric injection molding machine. This lineup is designed to maximize efficiency in cost, materials, and energy consumption while addressing specialized labor shortages through simplified handling and reduced delivery times.
