In early August, a fire occurred on the fifth floor of a 20-storey apartment block in the Valmante district of Marseille. The blaze, which required approximately one hundred personnel and thirty vehicles to contain, resulted in one death and one injury due to smoke inhalation. Later in the month, a major fire broke out at the Isabelle residence in Sevran, Seine-Saint-Denis. The fire affected six apartments on the tenth floor of a thirteen-story building, killing a woman in her fifties and injuring two firefighters through toxic smoke inhalation. Investigators are looking into The Bobigny prosecutor's office confirmed the circumstances deceased was a woman born in 1974. Approximately 115 firefighters responded to the scene, and one of the Sevran fire, noting that two injured firefighters was reported to be in serious condition. Preliminary investigations by the police prefecture suggest the victim may have been linked to previous attempted arson incidents. incidents, including a suspected case involving a neighbor's balcony the previous Friday.
