Separate fatal vehicle accidents have been reported on Brazilian highways. In Mandaguaçu, northern Paraná, three women aged 20 to 26 died when their vehicle left the BR-376 highway and overturned into a water containment area. The incident occurred around 3:40 AM, and authorities are investigating why the car left the roadway. In Águas Lindas de Goiás, near the Descoberto Dam, three individuals—two men and one woman—died after their vehicle fell into a ravine on the BR-070 highway while traveling toward Brasília. Emergency responders found the vehicle overturned, and because the crash occurred at a geographic transition point, both the Goiás and Federal District Military Firefighters Corps were involved. Investigations by the Federal Highway Police and the Civil Police of the Federal District are underway to determine the cause and identify the victims. Additional fatal incidents have been reported in other regions. In Itabirito, Minas Gerais, a collision involving three cars on the BR-040 resulted in the deaths of a 16-year-old and two elderly individuals. In Francisco Beltrão, Paraná, a driver was indicted for manslaughter following a collision with a motorcycle that killed a 17-year-old; investigators noted the driver showed signs of intoxication and had repeatedly crossed into oncoming traffic. Other reported incidents include a multi-vehicle pileup on the Mogi-Bertioga highway in São Paulo leaving 16 people injured, a hit-and-run on the BR-272 in Francisco Alves involving a father and his 5-year-old daughter, and a boat shipwreck in the Paranaíba River in Corumbaíba, Goiás, where authorities recovered the final victim, civil police officer Jorge Luiz R. Ferreira.
