A 46-year-old forestry engineer died in Botoșani, Romania, after being struck in the head by a falling branch during tree cleaning operations. The incident occurred on the grounds of military unit UM 01189. Although the employee of the Botoșani Forestry Directorate was off-duty, he was participating in the work alongside other laborers. Emergency medical services confirmed the death at the scene. Because the accident took place on military property, the Botoșani Territorial Labor Inspectorate noted that the investigation falls under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Defense’s occupational health and safety services rather than local labor authorities. Military security and health services are currently conducting the investigation.
