A fatal rear-end collision occurred on the BR-163 highway in Bom Jesus do Sul, southwestern Paraná, involving a Scania truck and a Honda HR-V. The accident resulted in the deaths of three members of the same family—two children and an elderly woman—who were seated in the rear of the vehicle. The deceased have been identified as 73-year-old Dilva Mangini Armani and her grandsons, Joaquim Alberti Armani, 12, and Francisco Alberti Armani, 9. Following the impact, the car left the roadway and fell into a ravine in a difficult-to-access area. Two occupants in the front seats survived the crash. One passenger, identified as 45-year-old Edimara Albert, was treated for abrasions and transported to the Municipal Hospital of Dionísio Cerqueira. The driver was also treated by emergency services and remained conscious. The truck driver was not injured. Emergency response teams from the Fire Department, SAMU, and the Federal Highway Police (PRF) managed the scene, which required a ‘stop and go’ traffic system. The Civil Police of Paraná are investigating the circumstances of the collision, and technical forensics will be conducted to determine the cause of the accident. This incident is among several fatal traffic accidents reported across various regions in Brazil.
