A nine-year-old girl died at Westmead Hospital following a serious motocross crash in Jerrong, approximately 65 kilometres south of Oberon. The accident, involving two motorcycles, occurred around midday on August 8, 2026. Emergency responders, including the Chifley Police District, NSW Ambulance, and an aeromedical rescue helicopter, attended the scene where the girl sustained serious head injuries. Following her airlift to the hospital, police confirmed her death on Wednesday, August 12. An investigation into the circumstances of the crash is ongoing, and a report will be prepared for the Coroner.
