Reports continue to emerge regarding several fatal and serious road accidents involving Polish citizens and occurring within Poland. In Hungary, a coach carrying Polish pilgrims crashed on the M3 highway near Mezokeresztes while returning from Medjugorje, resulting in 12 deaths and 37 injuries. In the United Kingdom, a high-speed police pursuit near Middlesbrough ended in a fatal crash, resulting in seven deaths, including two officers and a 23-year-old Polish national. In Poland, several incidents have been documented, including a fatal collision on the S8 expressway near Czerniewice and various regional accidents in Kołaczyce, Ciechanów, and Babsko. During the final summer holiday weekend, a surge in road accidents and police interventions was reported across several regions. In the Silesian Voivodeship, authorities recorded 216 road incidents resulting in 13 injuries, noting that 178 people were detained for driving under the influence over a two-day period. Fatalities during this period included a 71-year-old man in Rudyszwałd who struck a utility pole and a 20-year-old driver in Topolnica who struck the rear of a stationary truck. Other reported deaths involved a cyclist on a mountain trail in Świeradowo-Zdrój and an individual crushed by a tractor in Gilowice. Additional incidents included a multi-car pileup on the S-52 expressway caused by distracted drivers and a head-on collision in Budy involving an intoxicated driver. In the Mazowieckie region, recent fatal accidents include two high-speed collisions with stationary heavy goods vehicles. On the S8 route near Warsaw, a BMW struck a parked Mercedes-Benz Actros, killing the 22-year-old driver. Approximately 24 hours later, a Skoda Octavia struck a stationary refrigerated truck on road DW 618 near Pułtusk, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old driver. Furthermore, a collision in Augustów near Pionki between a BMW and a Kawasaki motorcycle resulted in the death of a 41-year-old motorcyclist.
