Two separate fatal stabbing incidents occurred in the Lombardy region of Italy in late October 2026. On October 26, a 34-year-old man was killed in Monza following a domestic dispute in via Pisacane. Investigators report that a 38-year-old Ecuadorian man, who had no fixed abode, allegedly retrieved a kitchen knife from a nearby restaurant before returning to attack the victim. The suspect was apprehended by Carabinieri near the scene and remains in custody. On October 31, a 55-year-old carpenter carpenter, identified as Aldo Marra, was fatally stabbed outside a the Bivio bar in the Vighizzolo district of Cantù. Authorities detained 33-year-old Cristian Maffia, who is accused of murder. Maffia reportedly claimed the attack was triggered by the victim allegedly mocking his Calabrian accent and stated he felt intimidated by the victim's stature. Witnesses suggested that Marra, a local youth soccer coach, may have asked the suspect to leave the premises, leading to the confrontation outside. Maffia, who has prior records related to narcotics, reportedly carried a knife because he feared encountering a creditor. Marra sustained two stab wounds, including a fatal blow to the abdomen, and passed away shortly after being transported to the hospital. Maffia remains in custody as investigations continue.
