Brazil ~~has reported~~ continues to report a series of fatal traffic accidents and violent incidents across several states. In Goiás, intensified inspections by the Federal Highway Police saw 27 accidents on federal highways, resulting in four deaths and 28 injuries. Subsequent reports indicate further fatalities in other regions. In Bahia, a collision on the BR-418 in Nova Viçosa killed four family members traveling from Belo Horizonte to celebrate an anniversary, while other accidents on the BR-135, BR-324, and BR-101 caused additional deaths and road closures. In Rondônia, a head-on collision between a truck and a municipal health vehicle on the BR-364 killed five people. Additionally, a motorcyclist died in Rio de Janeiro at an intersection where a malfunctioning traffic light, reportedly caused by cable theft, was a factor. Recent reports expand the scope of fatalities to include incidents in Minas Gerais involving a fuel ~~tanker,~~ tanker in Vespasiano, Ceará involving a truck and a utility vehicle, and in Santa Catarina involving a ~~tractor.~~ tractor accident in Tangará. In Maranhão, a 17-year-old athlete died following a previous accident in São Luís. Other road-related incidents include a driver arrested for drunk driving in Rio Grande do Sul, a driver in Cuiabá who lost control of a vehicle due to hypoglycemia, and a series of collisions in Paraná involving a driver traveling the wrong way. Additional motorcycle-related accidents were noted in Conceição do Coité and Camboriú. Parallel criminal incidents have also resulted in deaths. In Mato Grosso, a man died following a shootout with military police in Sapezal after suspects abandoned a vehicle containing approximately 5 kg of skunk. In Mato Grosso do Sul, a 22-year-old driver died after crashing into a tree while attempting to flee Federal Highway Police during a drug transport involving 445 kg of ~~cocaine.~~ marijuana.
