On October 2, 2026, several fatal traffic accidents were reported across Thailand. Initial reports detailed two separate incidents resulting in three deaths. In Udon Thani, a motorcyclist died after running a red light and colliding with a car. In Kalasin, a collision between a pickup truck and a motorcycle near a school zone killed two individuals. Later reports identified further fatalities involving German nationals. In Phang Nga province, an elderly German couple was killed by a pickup truck while using a pedestrian crosswalk; the driver later surrendered to police facing charges of negligent homicide. In Bangkok, a 22-year-old German woman and a Thai woman were killed in a collision involving a driver who tested positive for alcohol at a level significantly exceeding the legal limit. Additional details emerged regarding a hit-and-run in Khao Lak involving two German tourists, aged 63 and 64. A 37-year-old driver allegedly ignored a red light at a pedestrian crossing before striking the victims and fleeing the scene. The driver has since surrendered to police and faces charges of reckless driving and negligent homicide.
