Previous incidents included fatalities in Chile, Colombia, Argentina, and Paraguay, as well as a collision involving a student transport van on Route 33. Recent reports have expanded the scope of these incidents. In Argentina, a 19-year-old faces manslaughter charges following a collision in Mendoza that caused a vehicle to fall from a bridge. In Bariloche, a school bus carrying 48 students slid on ice, striking seven parked vehicles and a utility pole, though no injuries were reported. Other Argentine incidents include a triple collision on Route 88 and a motorcyclist suffering severe injuries after hitting a light pole in Goya. A separate incident in Guaymallén has sparked a jurisdictional dispute regarding guardrail maintenance, while a driver died in La Plata following a medical emergency. In Chile, 24-year-old nursing technician Edmara Molina Rogel was killed after being struck by a car outside a discotheque in La Unión; the alleged driver remains in preventive detention. In Colombia, 17-year-old student Cristian Daniel Oliva Rosales died from injuries sustained in a rural accident in Nariño. In Ecuador, Sergeant Gabriel Paredes Gavilánez died in Mocache after being struck by a vehicle that fled the scene. In Mexico, fatalities included a motorcyclist struck by a bus in Iztacalco and a 17-year-old who died following a motorcycle crash in Coahuila. Additionally, a woman was injured after skidding on a new scooter in Guerrero. In Paraguay, a 22-year-old man died after his motorcycle fell into a ditch.
