By late October 2026, FC Bayern Munich’s efforts to secure Michael Olise’s long-term future have transitioned into active contract negotiations. The club aims to extend the winger’s stay, potentially through 2032, by proposing a significant salary increase from approximately €14 million to between ~~€21~~ €25 million and ~~€25~~ €30 million annually, aligning him with Harry Kane and Jamal Musiala. Negotiations have centered on Olise’s demand for a release clause. While his current contract runs until 2029 without such a provision, Bayern leadership, including Max Eberl, has indicated they may only consider a clause if it exceeds €200 million. Olise’s market value has ~~surged following exceptional club and international form,~~ surged, with some estimates placing his value near €198 million and potential transfer offers from Real Madrid reaching up to €250 million. ~~Despite interest from Liverpool~~ While Premier League clubs like Arsenal, Liverpool, and Manchester City have shown interest, reports suggest Olise may prefer a move to Spain—specifically to Real ~~Madrid,~~ Madrid or Barcelona—over returning to England. Despite interest, Bayern has maintained a firm stance. President Herbert Hainer stated the club is in a “position of strength” and under no pressure to sell. Honorary president Uli Hoeness recently dismissed transfer rumors as “nonsense,” stating the club will negotiate an extension this season but is prepared to wait until 2029 if no agreement is reached. ~~While Real Madrid has reportedly stepped back to preserve its relationship with Bayern, they remain attentive to the player.~~ Following a red card in a match against Viking Stavanger, former player Lothar Matthäus urged Bayern to finalize an extension, calling Olise a “difference-maker.” Meanwhile, Dietmar Hamann expressed concern over the team’s tactical dependence on the attacker and the internal reaction to his disciplinary issues.
