FC Schalke 04 announced the release of a 90-minute cinema version of the Sky original documentary, ‘Mythos Schalke – Ein Leben lang’. Produced with mach2media, the film chronicles the club’s progression from the 2. Bundesliga to becoming Bundesliga champions during the 2025/26 season. Scheduled for special screenings in selected German cinemas starting 27 August 2026, the documentary features footage of head coach Miron Muslic, sport director Frank Baumann, current players, and club legends. Following the theatrical premiere, the series is set to broadcast on Sky and WOW. By late August, the club reported significant interest in the project, noting that more than 14,000 tickets had been sold in advance of the premiere. On 26 August 2026, the club held a premiere event attended by approximately 600 guests, including players, club officials, and board members such as Matthias Tillmann. The event was intended to build momentum ahead of the club’s Bundesliga season opener against FC Augsburg. The cinematic release is planned for ~~over 100~~ 107 cinemas across Germany, with a second installment of the series anticipated for summer 2027.
