Ferrero Group has entered into an agreement to acquire Purely Elizabeth, a U.S. wellness brand based in Boulder, Colorado. Specializing in granola, oatmeal, cereals, and protein-based products, Purely Elizabeth has reportedly doubled its sales over the last two years, reaching an estimated turnover of approximately $200 million. The acquisition is intended to bolster Ferrero’s presence in the North American breakfast and ‘better-for-you’ food segments, following its previous $3.1 billion acquisition of WK Kellogg Co. To preserve brand identity, Purely Elizabeth is expected to operate as a standalone entity, with founder and CEO Elizabeth Stein remaining in her leadership role. Giovanni Ferrero, president of Ferrero International S.A., stated that the brand is an ‘excellent addition to the portfolio.’ Following the closing of the deal, Ferrero plans to support the brand’s growth through increased product innovation, expanded distribution, and enhanced operational capabilities while maintaining the brand's existing identity. In a recent development, the founder of Purely Elizabeth has sold the company to Ferrero in a deal valued at $800 million. As part of a broader international growth strategy and a move toward €25 billion in revenue, Ferrero is also implementing a management restructuring. Giovanni Ferrero will assume the presidency of the holding company, Ferrero International, while a new division, Ferrero Core, will be established to oversee major brands and the ‘Better-For-You’ segment.
