The Festival Pachuco 2026 is being held in Ciudad Juárez and El Paso to honor the 111th anniversary of the birth of Germán Valdés, known as ‘Tin Tan’. Organized by the Instituto para la Cultura del Municipio de Juárez (IPACULT), the event celebrates the actor and singer as an emblematic figure of border culture. The festival includes music, dance, theater, and photography exhibitions, such as ‘Ya llegó su Pachucote’, which highlights the history of the pachuco movement. Additional programming features lectures on the origins of pachuquismo, musical performances by the Juan Valdez Big Band, and community discussions regarding the Valdés family legacy to connect new generations with border cultural expressions. Recent festivities in Ciudad Juárez included a conversation regarding the Valdés family legacy led by Marcos Valdés. The program also featured musical and dance performances by the Juárez Club de Danzón and Black Company, focusing on preserving Pachuco culture through historical discussion and artistic expression.
