The 128th edition of the Fieracavalli exhibition is held at Veronafiere in Verona from November 5 to 8, 2026. The international event features 2,400 horses representing 60 different breeds, 700 exhibitors from 25 countries, and over 200 scheduled events across 12 pavilions. The opening ceremony was attended by high-ranking Italian officials, including Chamber of Deputies President Lorenzo Fontana and Ministers Francesco Lollobrigida, Alessandra Locatelli, and Gianmarco Mazzi. Regional representatives, including the President of Veneto, have also highlighted the sector's economic impact, noting that Veneto hosts over 30,000 equines. Key programming includes the Longines FEI Jumping World Cup, the Stefano Ricci Top Dressage Trophy, and the debut of the Italia Polo Challenge. In addition to equestrian disciplines, the exhibition emphasizes equine welfare and social inclusion. A new facility, Ristorante H | Academy Ape’n Down, was inaugurated in collaboration with a social cooperative to support the professional training and integration of individuals with intellectual disabilities. The event also features workshops hosted by Confagricoltura regarding the role of horses in sustainable agriculture and rural tourism. Other planned highlights include a new Western Show space in Pavilion 11, a dedicated Healthcare and Leisure area in Pavilion 4, and the Fieracavalli Campus educational project. The Sicilian Region is participating under the theme “La Sicilia al passo,” highlighting biodiversity and indigenous breeds. Regional participation is further bolstered by the Lazio region, which is presenting 24 entities, including breeders and specialized centers. Discussions at the event also address regulatory and fiscal recognition for horse care as an agricultural activity. Coldiretti Campania has specifically proposed that horse care and management be officially recognized as agricultural activities to provide better regulatory and fiscal certainty for businesses involved in equine tourism and animal welfare.
