As part of the festivities for the 2026 Fiesta Nacional de los Estudiantes in Argentina, various student representative elections were scheduled for late August. In Tartagal, officials planned for municipal, departmental, and provincial elections, with the possibility of using digital voting via QR codes. Following the election period, reports emerged of mixed outcomes. In Jujuy, the Colegio Secundario de Arte Nº42 successfully held its election, crowning Ingrid Santillán as its 2026 representative. However, in San Pedro, the election at the Colegio Provincial de Misiones de La Esperanza turned violent when parents and relatives, dissatisfied with the results, attacked the jury and engaged in physical altercations in the presence of students and children. Looking toward the national stage, the 75th edition of the Fiesta Nacional de los Estudiantes will culminate with the election of the National Representative on Friday, September 25, at the Estadio 23 de Agosto in Jujuy. This event is expected to gather representatives from the 23 Argentine provinces and the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires. The ceremony will feature a traditional presentation by a local student cast of dancers and singers, concluding with a concert by the musical group Tan Biónica.
