Individual fire incidents occurred in Romania during mid-September 2026. In Sebeș, a vehicle crashed into a house early on a Tuesday morning, resulting in the car catching fire and being completely destroyed. Emergency responders confirmed that no one was inside the vehicle at the time of the accident. In the Bascov commune of Argeș, a fire originated in an outbuilding and spread to a residential house. The incident required deployment of firefighters and a SMURD medical crew, and caused significant traffic disruptions in the area. On Sunday, September 20, an elderly care and social center on Justiției Street in Sighișoara was evacuated due to a fire. At the time of the incident, 40 people were inside the building. ISU Mureș reported that 36 individuals evacuated independently, while firefighters assisted three others in exiting. One person was treated for smoke inhalation and transported to the Sighișoara Emergency Care Unit (CPU) under a ‘yellow code’. The fire was contained to a single room and did not affect other parts of the building. A RO-ALERT message was issued to warn residents of heavy smoke. Other reported incidents include a 100-hectare vegetation and stubble fire in Bălești, Dolj; a fire at an animal shelter in Botoșani; and an electric motorcycle fire in a Târgu-Neamț parking lot caused by an ‘electrical thermal effect’.
