Firebird has officially launched its first major AI factory in Hrazdan, Armenia, establishing a high-performance computing hub described as the largest of its kind in the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) region. The facility utilizes NVIDIA architecture and Dell Technologies infrastructure to support the training and operation of sophisticated AI models. The initial phase involves an investment of approximately $500 million, featuring 18 megawatts of capacity and over 6,000 NVIDIA Blackwell GPUs. Perplexity has been identified as one of the facility’s initial customers. Firebird intends to scale the site significantly by the end of 2027, targeting 300 megawatts of capacity and the deployment of more than 70,000 NVIDIA Blackwell and next-generation Rubin GPUs. As part of a broader global expansion strategy, Firebird has announced a target to reach 2 gigawatts of AI infrastructure capacity across frontier markets by the end of 2028. This roadmap includes a second major market in Kazakhstan, where the company has already secured 125 megawatts of capacity at the Data Center Valley site. NVIDIA has expressed intent to invest in Firebird, following a previous investment from CoreWeave. The inauguration was attended by Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan alongside leadership from NVIDIA and representatives from the United States and Kazakhstan. The project follows a 2025 memorandum of understanding on AI and technology cooperation between Armenia and the United States. In August 2026, Firebird AI joined the Leading Technology Enterprises Union (LTEU) as a strategic member. During an announcement in Sevan, co-founder Aleksandr Yesayan, who is also a member of the LTEU council, stated that the partnership aims to foster collaboration among approximately 300 technology companies to benefit local startups, research centers, and universities.
