Firefighting sports and rescue competitions in Poland

Firefighting sports competitions continue to be held at international and regional levels in Poland. Following previous regional contests, Youth Firefighting Teams (MDP) have remained active in various disciplines. In Korczyna, young firefighters participated in fire relays, drills, and combat exercises. In Biłgoraj County, 14 teams competed at the Biszcza-Żary reservoir under international CTIF regulations. In the girls' category, MDP Smólsko Duże and MDP Potok Górny were top performers, while MDP Stary Bidaczów took first place in the boys/mixed category. Officials emphasized that these events are essential for integrating youth and building a future workforce for volunteer fire departments. Further regional activity took place on September 12 at the Municipal Stadium in Dobra. The event included competitions for both adult teams and Youth Volunteer Fire Brigades (MDP), focusing on speed, agility, and equipment knowledge through fire relays and combat exercises. In the Category A competition, OSP Żeronice secured first place, followed by OSP Dąbrowica and OSP Piekary I. Among the youth divisions, OSP Dobra won the girls' MDP category, while ~~Piekary~~ Piekery took first place in the boys' division. Recent activities have expanded to include high-intensity training and specialized rescue events across Poland and the Czech Republic. In Warsaw, firefighters participated in the VIII Polish Stair Running Championships, climbing 30 floors of the Palace of Culture and Science in full gear. Other regional contests were held in Dobra, Gnojnik, Lelis, Żerków, and Krzanowice. Educational and coordination efforts have also increased, including youth rescue competitions in Golina, Stefanów, and Gdańsk, a joint military and medic exercise in Obiszów, and large-scale civil defense drills in Gdynia.
