Vocalist Floor Jansen initially announced her second solo studio album, ‘Hytress’, scheduled for release on January 15, 2027. Jansen indicated the project would move away from her 2023 pop-leaning style to focus on a heavier metal sound influenced by bands such as Gojira and Periphery, avoiding the symphonic elements found in her work with Nightwish. The album will be released via REVAMP Music and Warner Music. Nightwish and Jansen have since announced they will part ways by mutual agreement, ending a 14-year collaboration that began in 2012. Jansen stated the decision is necessary to focus on her solo career, including the ‘Hytress’ album and upcoming tours across Europe and Latin America. In a personal video message, Jansen thanked fans for their support and acknowledged the “shared sadness” regarding the separation. During her tenure, Jansen performed on three studio albums: ‘Endless Forms Most Beautiful’ (2015), ‘Human. :II: Nature.’ (2020), and ‘Yesterwynde’ (2024). Nightwish confirmed the band will continue and plans to record their eleventh studio album in 2027, which will be the first project without Jansen since she joined the lineup. As part of their 30th-anniversary celebrations, the band is expected to release ‘The Greatest 30 Years on Earth’, a live album featuring Jansen, on December 11, 2026. In preparation for her solo transition, Jansen has released ‘Everything Is Moving On’, the third single from ‘Hytress’. The track explores themes of time and change, with Jansen noting that moving forward involves recognizing when certain things no longer fit.
