Florida congressional primary elections saw several incumbents and notable challengers secure victories amidst a shifting political landscape influenced by Republican-led redistricting. In the Democratic primaries, Rep. Jared Moskowitz defeated Oliver Larkin, a challenger backed by the Democratic Socialists of America, in the 25th Congressional District after redistricting moved his home address out of his previous district. Mills’ campaign was heavily impacted by House Ethics Committee investigations into claims of sexual misconduct, campaign finance violations, misrepresentation of military service, and illicit involvement in federal contracts, alongside allegations of domestic assault. While Donald Trump had previously described Mills as an ‘America First Patriot,’ the former president did not include him in recent endorsement lists, and Florida Governor Ron DeSantis explicitly stated he did not support Mills. Elijah received endorsements from Representatives Anna Paulina Luna and Mike Haridopolos.
