Various French municipalities and the Banque Alimentaire are organizing food drives to combat food insecurity. Local efforts in areas such as Prémesques and Sarre-Union involve collecting non-perishable food and hygiene products through partnerships with town halls and retailers. The Banque Alimentaire has scheduled its national collection for early November to avoid conflict with major commercial events. In regions like Toulouse, the organization supports tens of thousands of people weekly. Organizers have noted that previous collections saw a decrease in total weight, emphasizing the growing need for aid as economic pressures impact household purchasing power. Building on these efforts, the Banques Alimentaires has scheduled its annual national food collection for November 6 to 8, 2026. The initiative focuses on gathering non-perishable food and hygiene products. Carrefour is participating by mobilizing 1,700 stores to host volunteers and collect donations. Through this partnership, Carrefour will donate one euro for every jar of Carrefour Baby products purchased during the event, while maintaining a continuous donation of 10 cents per bottle of WakeUp! juice sold. Regional efforts include the use of 61 points of sale in Charente, such as a Picard in Soyaux, to support 70 solidarity organizations. In Val-au-Perche, collection points are located at Carrefour Contact and CocciMarket in Le Theil. The scale of the organization is significant: in 2025, it supported 2.4 million people and collected over 9,750 tonnes of products, which represented more than 19 million redistributed meals.
