Football tournaments for uniformed services in Poland
Overview
In September 2026, various football tournaments involving uniformed services and public institutions were held across Poland.
In Wrocław, a charity tournament for the Municipal Police Commander’s Cup was hosted at the Academy of Physical Education to support Corporal Przemysław Leśniak. Participating teams included the State Fire Service, the Water Rescue Service, and the Police Prevention Unit. The State Fire Service won the tournament, while the Journalists’ team was awarded the Fair Play Cup. A youth tournament was also conducted, with 1 KS Ślęza Wrocław taking first place.
Additionally, the 11th National Football Tournament for Women and Men was held in Lidzbark Warmiński on September 10 and 11 in memory of Junior Corporal Marek Cekala. The event involved 41 teams and 492 players from the Police, State Fire Service, Border Guard, Prison Service, Military, and Emergency Medical Services. The tournament consisted of 110 matches and included a friendly game between the Olsztyn Provincial Police and a representative team from Lidzbark Warmiński.
