Overview
Franklin Templeton, acting through its real estate subsidiary Clarion Partners, has reached an agreement to acquire a majority stake in the European real estate firm Stoneshield Capital.
Under the terms of the deal, Franklin Templeton will acquire a 75% controlling interest in the firm. Stoneshield founders Juan Pepa and Felipe Morenés are expected to retain a minority stake and will continue to manage the firm’s daily operations and investment strategy.
The transaction is expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. The acquisition is intended to significantly expand Clarion’s managed European real estate capital, potentially tripling it to 11 billion euros.
