Fraud investigations and police raids in Moldova

Overview

Moldovan authorities have conducted multiple operations in Chișinău targeting fraudulent activities. In one instance, police detained two men, aged 20 and 22, for a Telegram-based scam that defrauded a 66-year-old woman of over 380,000 lei. The suspects, posing as state employees, attempted to convince the victim to sell her apartment to secure her savings.

In a separate operation, the National Investigation Inspectorate and the “Fulger” special police brigade raided five fraudulent call centers operated by a criminal network.
