The Polish Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) has issued warnings regarding fraudulent third-party entities offering paid assistance for disability support benefits. ZUS reported that individuals and companies have been approaching people with disabilities, sometimes visiting homes or providing pre-prepared contracts and powers of attorney as a service package. ZUS clarified that all formalities for applying for these benefits can be completed free of charge through ZUS employees or by authorizing a trusted family member. Authorities have advised citizens against signing documents from unofficial sources and suggested contacting the police if fraud is suspected. Recent reports highlight the severity of these charges, noting that some intermediaries are demanding fees that can exceed 20,000 PLN for services that are available for free through official channels. These entities have been known to use social media for promotion or to send letters containing ready-to-sign contracts. In a subsequent development, the Polish Prison Service Employees Union (NSZZFiPW) also issued warnings concerning fraudulent intermediaries. The union reported misconduct involving the unauthorized copying of insured members' data by a broker and has appointed a new exclusive broker broker, Polish Brokers Group, to manage group insurance. Recent updates confirm that the NSZZ Prison Service and Prison Employees Union has designated Polish Brokers Group as the only authorized broker for their group insurance, following reports of misinformation by other entities. Parallel to these security concerns, the State Fund for Rehabilitation of Disabled People (PFRON) announced a 400 million PLN fund for NGOs to support independence and labor market integration. Additionally, integration, alongside a new pilot program is being introduced to implement for supported employment models to assist people with disabilities in entering the workforce. models.
