French authorities have disrupted a criminal network planning a series of kidnappings, robberies, and assaults against wealthy individuals, musicians, and celebrities. Among the 26 identified targets was footballer Kylian Mbappé. The investigation was prompted by incidents in Neuilly-sur-Seine, including a failed robbery attempt at a watchmaker in April and an armed robbery in May involving luxury watches valued at approximately 150,000 euros. Investigators identified an 18-year-old suspect, Clément L. (alias ‘Lester Z’), as a primary figure who allegedly orchestrated criminal activities from a prison cell using Snapchat. Following his apprehension by the Paris organized crime brigade, Clément L. was charged with organized theft and placed in solitary confinement. While the suspect has claimed to be a mere intermediary, authorities are investigating his role in planned home invasions and abductions occurring between April and August. Recent developments confirm that Clément L. was arrested after leaving a court in Bobigny. In addition to the primary suspect, police have detained a second individual believed to be linked to the vehicles used in the criminal operations.
