French football clubs continue to manage squad compositions through various transfer activities and contract negotiations. Recent summer movements involve significant roster changes at Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Stade Rennais. PSG has bolstered its attack with new signings Ferran Torres and Mika Godts, while reportedly preparing to facilitate the departure of forward Bradley Barcola to Liverpool for approximately €140 million. Logistical issues impacted the Ligue 1 season opener between PSG and Stade Rennais. The Ligue de Football Professionnel (LFP) ordered the match to be relocated from the Parc des Princes to Roazhon Park after the Paris pitch was deemed unplayable due to fungal issues and a record-breaking heatwave. A dispute has emerged regarding the return fixture in March 2027; Stade Rennais views the relocation as an exceptional measure, while PSG argues the “exceptional circumstances” justify a full reversal of the season's scheduled home and away matches. Following repairs to the damaged turf, PSG hosted AS Monaco at the Parc des Princes for a Ligue 1 third-round match. Despite an early 31-minute header from Marquinhos, PSG lost 2-1 to Monaco, leaving the club in 13th place in Ligue 1. ~~Captain Marquinhos has since acknowledged recent defensive struggles, noting~~ This defeat marks the ~~team has conceded six goals.~~ club's worst start to a season in 14 years, leaving them without a victory after three matches. Monaco defender Flávio Nazinho, who scored the equalizer, praised his team's mental strength and unity. PSG has since rebounded in their UEFA Champions League campaign, beginning their title defense with a dominant 6-1 victory over Slovan Bratislava at the Parc des Princes.
