Meanwhile, the former Notre-Dame du Bois chapel in Sauxillanges continues to provide tours regarding the area’s Cluniac history. The event also underscored the ongoing financial difficulties of monument preservation. Olivier de La Villéon, owner of the Château de Montmuran, highlighted the heavy costs of maintenance, noting that repairs to combat wood-destroying fungi required 1.4 million euros over a five-year period.
