The French Army has reached a milestone in the SCORPION programme with the delivery of the first EBRC Jaguar armored vehicles at the R3 standard. As of late September 18, 2026, approximately 25 vehicles have vehicles—comprising new Jaguar R3 units and upgraded Jaguar R2 models—have been delivered or retrofitted to this specification to modernize and digitalize land forces by replacing the aging AMX-10RC. The Jaguar R3 is a 25-tonne, 6x6 wheeled vehicle equipped with a digitized T40 turret, a 40 mm CTA cannon, and Akeron MP anti-tank missiles. missiles capable of engaging targets at ranges up to 4,000 meters. Developed by a consortium including KNDS France, Arquus, and Thales, the vehicle incorporates advanced sensors and an improved human-machine interface to enhance crew decision-making. Following successful testing in Bourges and Angers, the French Ministry of Defense is scheduled to officially authorize the Jaguar R3 for combat use by July 20, 2026. Deliveries and modernizations are expected to continue through the end of 2026, with the French Army aiming to possess a total of 300 Jaguar vehicles by 2030. The vehicle has also been selected for the CaMo programme in Belgium and Luxembourg. Luxembourg, and the manufacturer is pursuing further international export campaigns.
