French mobile service provider plan updates

Overview

Mobile service providers in France have introduced various specialized and budget-friendly telecommunications plans.

Cdiscount Mobile launched a no-commitment 5G plan priced at €9.99 per month. This plan provides 100 GB of data in France and 25 GB of roaming data within the EU and overseas departments via the Bouygues Telecom network. The offer includes unlimited calls, SMS, and MMS, with a SIM card cost of €1. It is designed to meet high data demands such as video streaming.

Other market options include a low-cost 4G plan from RED by SFR, priced at €1.99 per month, which provides 1 GB of data and unlimited communication services aimed at younger users. Alongside these service launches, guidance has been provided for parents regarding managing children’s smartphone use through parental controls and established usage rules.

Recent market developments show an increase in high-data offerings. Cdiscount Mobile has expanded its 5G options to include a 220 GB plan for €9.99 per month. NRJ Mobile, also utilizing the Bouygues Telecom network, offers a 200 GB 5G plan for €7 per month with 35 GB of roaming data across 160 destinations, as well as a data-unlimited plan for €8.75 per month for an initial three-month period.

Free provides the ‘Forfait Free Max’ for €19.99 per month to Freebox subscribers, which includes unlimited 5G/5G+ in France and unlimited data in over 140 international destinations, such as the United States, Canada, China, and Japan. Additionally, Auchan Télécom offers a 200 GB 5G plan for €11.99, or €9.99 for Waaoh! loyalty card holders, and a 130 GB 4G plan for €8.99 under the same loyalty conditions.
