The French government’s Pass’Sport program provides subsidies to help offset the costs of sports club memberships and licenses. Initially, the initiative offered a 70 euro deduction for specific groups, including youth receiving the Back-to-School Allowance, children and youth with disability allowances, adults with disability allowances, and scholarship students under age 28. For the 2026-2027 season, the program has been updated. The financial aid amount will decrease from 70 euros to 50 euros, but eligibility criteria have expanded to re-include children aged 6 to 13. Eligibility will now be determined by a family quotient of less than 700 euros rather than the school start allowance. Additionally, the Caisse nationale des allocations familiales (CAF) is expected to provide a complementary payment in early 2027 to beneficiaries aged 6 to 17 who activated their Pass Sport during the autumn 2026 period. Following pressure from local mayors and sports organizations such as the CNOSF, the government published a decree officially reinstating eligibility for the 6 to 13 age group, which had been excluded during the previous season. To qualify for the 50 euro subsidy, beneficiaries must be between 6 and 17 years old, and the household must receive benefits from the CAF or MSA with a family quotient of 699 euros or less. The application campaign for this season is scheduled to run from September 1 to December 31, 2026. Under the updated rules, the subsidy is deducted from the membership or subscription cost by participating sports structures rather than being paid directly to families.
