French culinary traditions continue to be highlighted through the exploration of regional gastronomy and local festivals. Initial focus centered on the relationship between diverse wine regions—including Champagne, Burgundy, the Loire, and Bordeaux—and artisan cheeses such as Brillat-Savarin, Crottin de Chavignol, and Époisses, alongside Normandy’s Gournay cheese. This emphasis has expanded into various culinary and environmental events. Recent activities include the 38th ‘Les Epicuriennes’ festival in Belley, the fifth ‘Mâchon’Week in Lyon, and the ‘Week-end gourmand du Chat perché’ in Dole, which reported record attendance of 55,000 visitors. Oenotourism is also being promoted through the ‘Vignobles en scène’ national event in the Rhône Valley and the ‘Autour du Vin’ salon in Draguignan, which highlights local craftsmanship. Environmental and plant-based initiatives remain prominent. The ‘Fête du sol vivant’ in the Hautes Vosges, including workshops in La Bresse, Vagney, and Grilly, promotes composting and natural gardening. Additionally, ‘La Grande Semaine Végétale’ continues to advocate for plant-based diets through regional activities and tastings. Newer programming for October 2026 includes the fourth ‘Salon du vin et des terroirs’ in Bussang, hosted by the ORAGA association. This event features 29 exhibitors showcasing regional wines, Jura cheeses, and local specialties, complemented by culinary demonstrations and a traditional choucroute meal. In Louviers, the Maison Clet whisky salon returns to the Jardin des Tanneurs, offering approximately 40 whiskies from ten distilleries and a masterclass on Octomore peated Scotch whisky.
