The 32nd edition of the Friuli Doc festival in Udine, scheduled for September 10 to 13, is set to transform the city into a major showcase for regional traditions. The event is expected to have an economic impact of approximately 10 million euros, spanning over 33,000 square meters and featuring more than 100 stands offering regional dishes and local wines. On September 10, the Festival della Canzone Friulana returned to the Piazza Libertà main stage after a six-year hiatus. The festival's final featured fifteen original songs performed live with an orchestra directed by Rudy Fantin, following a selection process of approximately fifty entries. Despite the scheduled festivities, the festival's official commencement was impacted by heavy rainfall. The inclement weather forced the cancellation of outdoor musical performances and the relocation of the opening ceremony from Piazza Libertà to Sala Ajace at Palazzo d'Aronco. During the ceremony, which featured singer Licia Colò as the guest of honor, Vice Mayor Alessandro Venanzi expressed solidarity with the populations of the Bassa Friulana region who have faced difficulties due to recent bad weather. To accommodate visitors during the four-day event, 27 extraordinary trains have been added to the rail service. Logistical highlights also include a historical train service on September 12, running from Trieste to Udine with stops in Monfalcone and Gorizia. Adult round-trip tickets are priced at 10 euros, with discounts for children aged 4 to 12 and free travel for those under 4. The program also includes the ‘Villaggio dei bambini’ and the ‘Oasi del Bebè’ to support families.
