The Fubon Guardians have continued their competitive play in the Chinese Professional Baseball League (CPBL). Following a split series against the Uni-President Lions and a shutout victory against the Rakuten Monkeys, the Guardians secured a 3-2 win against the CTBC Brothers. This victory was highlighted by a strong first inning featuring a home run by Dong Tzu-en, his first of the season, and a successful CPBL debut by pitcher Matthews. Matthews pitched 5.2 innings with five strikeouts, reaching a top speed of 153 km/h, which was noted as the fastest left-handed pitching speed in the league this season. Tseng Chun-yue secured the save to end the Brothers' winning streak. However, the Guardians later suffered a 3-2 loss to the Wei Chuan Dragons in a 10-inning game. The team later secured a 5-0 shutout against the Rakuten Monkeys, led by Aaron Wilkerson’s six scoreless innings. Following the departure of Japanese pitcher Abe Yudai to the NPB, manager Goto Mitsutaka noted that all foreign players are currently undergoing evaluation ahead of the upcoming deadline. During a matchup against the TSG Hawks, Chang Yu-cheng hit his 15th home run of the season to take sole possession of the home run leaderboard.
