The Fujifilm instax product line has expanded from its initial focus on the instax Link WIDE printer to include new hardware. The instax Link WIDE enables the transformation of digital smartphone images into physical WIDE format instant film via Bluetooth and a dedicated app. Scheduled for release around October 2026, the lineup includes the instax Pal 2, a compact 10-megapixel digital camera weighing approximately 41g. Featuring a redesigned, analog-inspired aesthetic, it includes an optical viewfinder, a 1.0-inch LCD screen, a 28mm-equivalent f/2.2 lens, autofocus, and a built-in flash. The device uses a control dial and a film-advance-style lever to switch between Mini, Square, Wide, and No Frame formats. It supports an ‘instax Animation’ mode for flipbook-style videos and offers 30 photographic effects via the Instax Pal app. Unlike traditional instant cameras, the Pal 2 does not print directly but transfers images via Bluetooth or USB Type-C to compatible printers or hybrid cameras. Fujifilm has also introduced the instax Link WIDE 2, a successor to the 2021 Link WIDE printer. It features an AI-driven ‘Photo Mixer’ for collages and a ‘QR Print’ mode to embed scannable codes into physical prints. Following this, the instax SQUARE 2 was announced as a successor to the SQ1. This analog instant camera features a redesigned, rounded body, a ‘Mood Filter Switch’ with Warm and Cool settings, automatic exposure, a selfie mirror, and a new Landscape Mode.
