Japanese artist Fujii Kaze announced the upcoming release of a new EP titled ‘You (feat. UMI) - EP’, scheduled for September 25. The project is a reconstruction of the song ‘You’ from his third album, ‘Prema’, and features singer-songwriter UMI, who contributes new lyrics and vocals. Following the release, the EP has been made available, containing four tracks: the title collaboration, an acapella version, an instrumental version, and a newly recorded original version of ‘You’. The collaboration builds on a previous 2025 performance by the two artists in Los Angeles. Fujii Kaze characterized the project as a “divine work” with a “celestial” atmosphere, while UMI stated the song reflects a shared belief in music as a “messenger of love”. The digital EP, which incorporates UMI’s R&B and soul influences, has been accompanied by a music video filmed in Japan. The video features scenes set in a park and inside a local Japanese bus at night. Fujii Kaze has described the contribution as ‘divine’, suggesting the music may transport listeners to a ‘Umiverse’.
