Galatasaray secured a 2-0 victory against German side VfB Stuttgart during the fourth week of the UEFA Champions League league stage at RAMS Park in Istanbul. Russian forward Aleksey Batrakov was the standout performer, scoring both goals in quick succession during the 12th and 15th minutes. His first goal followed a deflected cross from Roland Sallai, while his second came after a pass from Davinson Sanchez. With these goals, the 21-year-old Batrakov became the youngest player in Galatasaray history to score twice in a single Champions League match, and the first player in the club’s history to score twice within the opening fifteen minutes of such a match, bringing his tournament goal tally to four. The win marks Galatasaray’s second consecutive victory in the competition, bringing their total to six ~~points.~~ points following previous victories against Lille and Barcelona. Stuttgart, who entered the match unbeaten in Europe this season, suffered their first defeat of the Champions League league phase, leaving them with seven points. Stuttgart manager Sebastian Hoeness noted that conceding two goals in the opening fifteen minutes determined the outcome of the match, despite his team creating several opportunities in the second half. One such opportunity, a goal by Chris Führich, was disallowed due to an offside ~~infringement.~~ infringement and VAR intervention. Goalkeeper Uğurcan Çakır played a significant role in maintaining the lead, making several critical saves to thwart Stuttgart pressure in the second half. The encounter featured high tension, including a confrontation between Barış Alper Yılmaz and Stuttgart’s Deniz Undav, resulting in yellow cards for both players. Before kickoff, a minute of silence was observed for Jesus de Miguel, a Spanish footballer from Tenerife who recently passed away. Galatasaray is scheduled to host Aston Villa on November 24, while Stuttgart will face Inter Milan on November 25.
